Anti-Wrinkle Treatments in Saltcoats & Kilmarnock

Anti-Wrinkle Results at Clinic 22

Anti-wrinkle treatments, commonly known as Botox (official name Botulinum toxin) is a drug that is prescribed and injected to reduce muscle movement. Botox is known for its ability to smooth out lines and wrinkles such as crows feet, frown lines and forehead lines. However, here at Clinic 22 despite being referred to as Anti-wrinkle treatment it is regularly used to treat other conditions such as gummy smiles, hyperhidrosis (over active sweating), headaches, teeth clenching and grinding amongst other things.

When used correctly Botox is a safe, effective treatment that temporarily smooths the tell tale signs of ageing.

At Clinic 22 we believe in using it sparingly to create natural balanced results that can take you from looking tired, angry or worried to fresh, warm and rejuvenated.

Treatment FAQs

It is only natural to be concerned about having a toxin injected into your body however Botox has been used world wide for over 25 years and has a vast amount of research studies and clinical data supporting it’s safe effective use in both medical and aesthetic fields.

Botox usually lasts around 12-16 weeks, this will vary depending on how strong your muscles are and the lifestyle you lead. Botox reaches its peak 2 weeks after it is injected and will gradually start to wear off after 7-9 weeks with most people needing their treatment redone after 12-16 weeks. After repeated treatments you will begin to find your Botox will start lasting longer as your muscles naturally become weaker.

This varies from person to person, In clinic we often see 40 year olds with smooth foreheads and 18 year olds with strong frown lines. It is completely dependent on your muscle strength, how deep your wrinkles are and how much they are impacting you. Not every line needs to be treated, some people really suit their crows feet.

No, you can go about your day as normal. Patients often have Botox on their lunch breaks. We ask that you leave applying make up for 4 hours after treatment to avoid any bacteria entering the treatment site and ask you to avoid any strenuous exercise for 24 hours to allow your Botox time to settle.

The only difference between “baby Botox’ and Botox is that it is smaller doses injected. At Clinic 22 we strongly believe that every treatment should be personalised to the patient in fact it is so important to us you will literally find it written in our values on the clinic walls. With this in mind every Botox treatment is tailored to your muscles and goals which means every dose injected is specifically designed for your face. Long story short in our option baby Botox isn’t actually anything other than a marketing ploy.

Like any other injectable treatments there are risks and potential side effects with Botox. The most common things we see are redness and inflammation at the injection site, this tends to settle very quickly. Other side effects may include bruising, headaches or undesirable results.
